We are proud of being verified and recommended by Rain Forest Alliance as a hotel with a social commitment and consciously compromised with the environment.  We are making efforts to promote tours including our neighboring rural communities combined with the most interesting and attractive learning experiences.  We are also offering visits to interesting places such as natural reserves in the dry tropic environment observing endangered wild life species in their own habitat. Here we are going to enlighten some of these packages that could be done in only one morning or afternoon, in dependence of the best time to do these activities!

Tour  Salinas.

A guided tour through ¨Las Salinas¨ will be an amazing learning experience for you, your family and friends, here you will be able to see how the locals convey water from the ocean to a vast extension of land where they have built shallow pools. The water will dry out with the help of the sun and as a result they get the marine salt. The workers pile it in hills to later be processed and distributed.  Next we will stop by the rural school where we can interact with the kids and offer them a fun activity to share with.

Tour Save the Planet.

We highly recommend this activity. Our goal is help saving the planet and the species that live within.  First we take you to the community of ¨El Astillero¨, a fisherman village only 5 minutes from our resort to closely observe how the women in the community have found a way of living by recycling plastic into marvelous hand woven bags and other articles. Later, we will take a walk as the sun goes down from El Astillero to the wild life reserve called Chacocente, a turtle sanctuary, where from July to January you can witness one of the most remarkable migrations from a single species, the marine turtle which has arrived to this specific spot in main land to lay their eggs, (There are only 7 of these nestling areas in the whole American continent). On the way back we will be riding in an ox cart for a mile, so you can experience this ancient way of transportation!! This is also a great place to observe wild life. The area holds the largest population of monkeys in the pacific and a wide variety of birds for bird watchers lovers!!

Tour Fun & Relax.

We will take you surfing to one of the best breaks recently discovered and quickly becoming world wide famous ¨Playa Popoyo¨. After an afternoon of great surf and fun, you will relax in the natural hot spring water of Salinas de Nahualapa.

Tour Community Life.

If you are interest in interacting with the locals and to learn how to milk a cow, a visit to a local cattle ranch is a must. Here, besides the milking, you will learn the process how to make the cheese from the region and be able to enjoy it along with our famous hand made tortilla. Afterward you can either chose to visit an elderly in a tiny community, which is settled in clay soil.  A person of the community will teach you the technique how to create ceramic and give its shape by only using your bare hands.  Following, you will learn the art of natural medicine in a health center, where you can see the different plants and learn about their properties.

Activities

Dance Lessons. Learn the rhythm of Latin music, sign up for lessons at our own facilities in the best possible scenario; overlooking the ocean you will be learning the steps of Salsa, cumbia, bachata and other latin rhythms!!

Artisan Fishing at he Beach. Also enjoy with the locals our artisans fishing tour and learn from them, in our own private beach.

And if you are up for some salsa lessons or enjoy an afternoon with the locals doing some artisans fishing you are very welcome to ask in our reception for these activities!!
